I am not going to talk about my day at school, or my home life, or what I did with Taylor over the weekend. I am going to talk about Representation.
When we are at school Teachers say we are 'representing' our parents. When we go on trips with the school the Principal says we are 'representing' our school. Those things are true, but do you know that we are representing someone every second of everyday?
We as Christians are representing God twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Whether we are in front of our family, hanging out with our friends, or spending time alone in our rooms, we are always representing God.
It aggravates me so much when I see one of my friends who say they are a Christian, and attends church on Sunday not acting like a Christian. Yesterday one of my friends were like dude I just got this flash drive cause someone left it in the computer.... I was like "Woah man that is stealing I thought you said you were a Christian". He just shrugged his shoulders like it wasn't a big deal. I tried to talk to him about it again today. I was telling him how we are representing God, and we can't be hypocrites by doing unchristian like things.
Once again he just shrugged it off. He said that there is no use to trying to show people he is a Christian because people were just ignoring it anyway. I was like... you are ignoring me right now. He smiled like he proved his point and was like exactly. Then I smiled right back, and said you don't see me giving up now do you?
Last night I was talking to another good friend of mine, he is like my brother. I am proud to say he is a newly born again Christian, but he still has some things in his life to fix. We talked for quit awhile about changes that he, and some changes that I need to make.
Being a Christian is not always easy, and it may not always be fun, but it is so rewarding. I was telling my kind of brother how it is just so amazing knowing that I have someone who loves me unconditionally. I know my parents, friends, and Taylor loves me, and it is a great feeling, but..... nothing compares to God's love.
He was telling me how he had trust issues, and he wanted to be more trusting, but he didn't want to get hurt. I explained to him how God is always there looking out for him. How he will catch him every time you fall, and help you stand back up.... and when you can't stand any longer he will carry you. It was really funny because I started getting really excited I mean what is there not to be excited about.
We also talked about representing God as well. The bible says in Matthew 12:30 "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters." Everytime anyone sins they are against God. I don't know about you, but God is the last person I want to be against. I am just so thankful that we have a merciful God. In John 3:16 the bible says that "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
God gave his only son to die for us, to die for our sins, so that we may have a chance at heaven. Isn't that amazing? To know that Jesus Christ died for me so that I can go to heaven, that is true unconditional love.
So the next time you are about to curse out that girl or guy who made you mad, or the next time you are about to steal that one thing no one will miss... think about who you are representing. If you are a Christian then act like it. Your classmates are watching you, even if they don't show it. Even if they don't watch you our God is still watching you.
